Where is the office Located?

Dr. Lewin’s office is in Brookline, MA. However, she is able to offer virtual services to anyone in MA.

How does virtual therapy work?

Virtual telehealth sessions are conducted with a HIPAA-compliant version of zoom.

How do I get started?

The first step toward working with Dr. Lewin is reaching out! You are welcome to send an email through the ‘Contact’ page. You will receive a response within 24 hours. From there, Dr. Lewin will schedule a brief 15-25 minute free consultation call to learn a bit more about your struggles and goals and evaluate whether she can be helpful.

What is a clinical psychologist? How are clinical psychologists different from other therapists?

Clinical psychologists undergo extensive specialized training in evaluating and addressing mental health and psychological concerns. Clinical psychologists have completed doctoral education, which involves thousands of hours of rigorous training. Psychologists are mandated to pursue continuing education to sustain their licenses, and they adhere to the most rigorous ethical standards.

What is the difference between ‘counseling’ and ‘psychotherapy/therapy’?

Counseling generally focuses on specific life events or challenges, often providing guidance and support for short-term issues. On the other hand, psychotherapy addresses deeper psychological patterns, underlying issues, and long-term mental health concerns. Psychotherapy involves more in-depth treatment to improve long term functioning and quality of life. Dr. Lewin provides psychotherapy.

What is the cancellation policy?

Sessions cancelled with less than 24-hour notice are billed in full, as Dr. Lewin has held the spot in her schedule.

Can I use my insurance?

No, Dr. Lewin is an out-of-network provider. She is able to furnish monthly statements that you can submit to your insurance company for them to reimburse you directly. Contact your insurance provider and ask about “Out of Network Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapy Coverage” to learn more about the possibility of reimbursement.

What is the ‘No Surprises Act’?

All clients have the right to receive an estimate on the cost of their care. Dr. Lewin provides a Good Faith Estimate to all clients. For more information, click here.
